Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Registered PE in at least one state with suitable credentials for registration in other states
• 10 years of experience
• Management knowledge and application
• Strong technical knowledge and application
• Knowledge of current codes and practices
• Experience with engineering calculation software and equipment selection programs
• Knowledge of REVIT
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Computer analysis skills
Essential Functions
• Design and supervise the design of specific projects, attend meetings and work with project team members to develop the necessary details and coordination necessary for project documentation.
• Responsible for the completion of reports, specifications and for code research and establishing design criteria for projects.
• Ensure the design and production efforts are completed within the established project budgets and schedules.
• Lead the design, documentation and completion of lighting, power and signal calculations.
• Collaborate with Discipline leader to communicate with client and contractors.
• Perform/supervise construction administration tasks.
• Work with and supervise other people to perform different tasks at the same time while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
• Work with junior staff serving as mentor so they develop into experienced engineers.
• Produce effective proposals and make presentations.
• Manage client and contractor relationships.
• Stay abreast of state-of-the-art design through independent reading, attendance of seminars and continuing education. Participate in design, analysis and documentation training as listed in the Discipline Training guidelines.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and firm wide standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
• Would report 1-2 days a week at our Jenkintown, PA or New York City Office with 2 days a week remote work and 1⁄2 day Fridays Remote year-round.
• 7-15 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering Design Process for Building Systems from Concept and Schematic Design through complete Construction Document Design and then Construction Administration Support
• Candidate should be well versed in all pertinent ASHRAE Standards and Mechanical Codes and Certifications.
• Mechanical PE License HIGHLY DESIRABLE
• Strong communication skills and ability to identify issues within the Mechanical Engineering Team.
• Must have mentorship skills to mentor Junior Engineers through the full design process of a project.
• Infrastructure experience is required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred (Including Hospital Patient Floors, Procedure Suites, Equipment Suites, and General Knowledge of Hospital Codes).
• Would report 1-2 days a week at our Jenkintown, PA Office or New York City Office with 2 days a week remote work and 1⁄2 day Fridays Remote year-round.
• 5-7 years of experience engineering electrical systems for hospitals, university buildings, commercial projects, and multi-building campus distribution systems.
• Experience with medium voltage systems through 35 KV preferred but not required.
• Junior/Graduate Electrical Engineer with BSEE,
• With 0-5 years of experience interested in a career in the engineering of electrical systems for hospitals, major commercial buildings, and campus electrical distribution systems, including combined heat and power systems.
• On the job training will include assignment to a PE electrical engineer and day-to-day work will initially include application of REVIT, 3D CADD systems. Experience gained will provide the necessary requirement advance towards a full PE Licensure.
• Would report 1-2 days a week at our Jenkintown, PA Office or New York City Office with 2 days a week remote work and 1⁄2 day Fridays Remote year-round.
As a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer in Training (EIT), your roles and responsibilities will include:
• 3+ years Plumbing & Fire Protection MEP design experience.
• Work alongside senior and intermediate staff to develop plumbing and fire protection design calculations and drawings
• Develop schematic diagrams for a variety of systems
• Assist in specifying equipment
• Assist in surveying and documenting on-site conditions, both existing and throughout the course of construction
• Assist in research and compliance with adopted codes
• Prepare BIM MEP Drawings and Models (utilizing Revit)
• Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) from an accredited institution
• EIT Certification is preferred but not required.
• Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD) certification is preferred but not required.
• Healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Proficient understanding of Revit is preferred but not required.
• Understanding of project process and drawing development.
• Ability to travel and survey throughout New Jersey and Eastern PA area
• Ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Would report 1-2 days a week at our Jenkintown, PA Office with 2 days a week remote work and 1⁄2 day Fridays Remote year-round.
